What is PEEK rod used for?
Machining bushes, valve seats, seals, insulators, and precision components that must survive heat to 250 degrees Celsius, aggressive chemicals, and heavy loads. It is the stock shape behind most machined PEEK parts.
What diameters of PEEK rod are available?
Common machining diameters from small-bore rod up to large billets. Because PEEK is costly, we cut blanks to the length your job needs rather than forcing a full stock length.
Does PEEK rod machine well?
Exceptionally: clean chips, fine finishes, and tight tolerances on standard lathes and mills with sharp tooling. It behaves more predictably than most high-temperature plastics.
Can you machine finished PEEK parts for us?
Yes, send the drawing or the worn part and we will machine it complete, keeping the program on file for repeat orders.
Is PEEK worth it over acetal or nylon?
Below about 100 degrees and in mild conditions, no; acetal and nylon are far cheaper. Where heat, chemicals, and load combine, PEEK is usually the only plastic that survives, and it earns its price.
