What is PEEK?
PEEK (polyether ether ketone) is the highest-performance engineering plastic in common industrial use: continuous service at 250 degrees Celsius, near-universal chemical resistance, and mechanical strength that lets it replace metal components.
What is PEEK material used for?
Valve seats, seals, pump wear rings, bushes in hot or chemical service, electrical connectors, semiconductor handling parts, and medical components. Anywhere nylon or acetal would fail from heat, load, or chemicals.
Why is PEEK so expensive?
Complex polymerisation and processing make PEEK cost many times more than nylon per kilogram, but a PEEK part often replaces a metal assembly or survives conditions that destroy cheaper plastics weekly, so the economics favour it where conditions are extreme.
Can PEEK be machined?
Yes, PEEK machines beautifully to fine tolerances and finishes. We machine components from PEEK sheet and rod to your drawing, or supply cut blanks for your own workshop.
PEEK or PTFE, which should I choose?
PTFE wins on pure chemical inertness and low friction but is soft and creeps. PEEK adds real structural strength and wear resistance at nearly the same temperatures. Seals and liners suit PTFE; load-bearing hot parts suit PEEK.
