Why Use Clear Plastic Dust Covers
Dust, moisture, and accidental contact are the enemies of precision equipment, delicate instruments, and valuable display items. A well-fitted clear dust cover solves all three problems while keeping the protected object fully visible. Unlike fabric covers or opaque enclosures, transparent plastic lets you monitor equipment status, read gauges, and appreciate displayed items without removing the cover.

Clear acrylic sheet delivers 92% light transmission, which is the same as optical glass. Polycarbonate is roughly 200 times more impact-resistant than glass and 30 times stronger than acrylic. If your dust cover needs to survive knocks from tools, forklifts, or rough handling in an industrial setting, polycarbonate is the practical choice. It is also the go-to material for machine guards and safety shields where breakage is not an option. For rounded or complex profiles, panels can be heated and bent to shape using our acrylic bending capabilities.
When you need multiple identical covers in production quantities, vacuum forming is a cost-effective manufacturing method. A heated sheet is drawn over a mould to create a seamless, one-piece cover with consistent wall thickness. Vacuum-formed covers can include flanges, mounting lips, and ventilation features moulded directly into the part.
