Custom Perspex Trophies for Every Occasion

Clear cast acrylic has become the material of choice for modern trophies and awards. It offers the same visual impact as crystal glass at a fraction of the weight, and it will not shatter if dropped during a presentation or bumped on a display shelf. From corporate achievement awards and employee recognition plaques to sporting trophies and school prizes, Perspex delivers a premium look that suits any occasion.

The design flexibility of acrylic is what sets it apart. Unlike glass or metal, Perspex can be cut into complex silhouettes, layered in multiple colours, and engraved with fine detail. Whether you need a simple rectangular plaque with an engraved logo or an elaborate multi-piece sculptural award, acrylic makes it possible without specialist tooling.

Laser Cutting and CNC Routing for Precision Trophy Making

Our laser cutting service is ideal for trophy production. The laser beam cuts acrylic with extreme precision, producing smooth, near-polished edges that require minimal post-processing. Intricate shapes, tight inside corners, and fine cutout details are all achievable in a single pass. For clear acrylic, the laser-cut edge has a frosted, flame-polished quality that many trophy makers prefer as a design feature.

For thicker sheets (typically above 15mm) or when a perfectly clear edge is required, CNC routing is the better option. The router cuts cleanly through thick acrylic and leaves an edge that diamond-polishes beautifully. CNC is also the right choice for production runs where nesting multiple trophy profiles on a single sheet keeps material waste and cost to a minimum.

Laser engraving adds the finishing touch. Text, logos, dates, and detailed graphics are etched into the acrylic surface as a clean, frosted white mark. The engraving catches the light and stands out beautifully against clear or coloured backgrounds. For added contrast, engraved areas can be paint-filled in any colour.

Colour Options and Layered Designs

Clear acrylic is the classic trophy material, but colour opens up a world of branding and design possibilities. We stock coloured acrylic sheets in a wide range of translucent and opaque options, including vibrant reds, blues, greens, and more subtle tones. Matching your corporate colours or event branding is straightforward.

Layered trophies combine multiple sheets of different colours, bonded together to create depth and visual interest. A common approach is a clear front layer with an engraved logo over a coloured backing layer. Metallic acrylic mirror sheet in silver or gold adds a high-end metallic accent to bases, backing panels, or accent strips. The combination of mirror, clear, and coloured acrylic in a single award creates a genuinely eye-catching piece.

Materials and Finishing for Award-Quality Results

We recommend cast acrylic (Perspex brand) for trophies rather than extruded acrylic. Cast sheet has superior optical clarity, machines more cleanly, and is less likely to develop internal stress marks during cutting and engraving. Our Perspex sheet range is available in thicknesses from 2mm up to 20mm, giving you plenty of options for thin plaques through to chunky freestanding awards.

Edge finishing makes a big difference to the final look. Our edge polishing service offers diamond polishing for a perfectly clear, glass-like edge, or flame polishing for a high-gloss finish at a lower cost. For trophies that will be handled and admired up close, diamond-polished edges are worth the investment.

Acrylic rod can also be incorporated into trophy designs. Clear acrylic rods make elegant stands, pillars, or connectors between layered elements. Cut to length and polished, they add a structural and decorative element that sets your award apart.

Custom Perspex Trophies & Acrylic Awards FAQ

What thickness of acrylic is best for trophies?
Most trophies use 10mm to 20mm clear cast acrylic for a solid, weighty feel. Thicker sheets give the award a premium, glass-like presence. For layered designs with multiple colours, 3mm to 6mm sheets work well when bonded together.
Can you laser-engrave logos and text onto Perspex trophies?
Yes. Laser engraving produces a frosted white mark on clear acrylic that looks crisp and professional. We can engrave logos, names, dates, and detailed graphics. For colour fill, the engraved area can be paint-filled for added contrast.
How many trophies can you produce in a batch run?
We handle everything from a single one-off award to production runs of hundreds. For batch orders, CNC routing or laser cutting from nested sheet layouts keeps costs down. Contact us with your quantity and design for a quote.
What colour options are available for acrylic trophies?
We stock clear, frosted, black, white, and a range of translucent and opaque colours in cast acrylic sheet. Metallic mirror acrylic in silver and gold is also available for eye-catching bases or accent layers.
How durable are Perspex trophies compared to glass?
Acrylic is significantly more impact-resistant than glass. A Perspex trophy can survive a fall from a desk without shattering, which makes it a safer and more practical choice for awards that will be handled, transported, or displayed in busy environments.
