Stop the Spillage at the Load Zone

Almost all conveyor spillage happens at the transfer point, where material lands on the belt and tries to escape sideways. Skirting seals that zone: rigid boards guide the load, and sealing strips ride the belt edge to close the gap. We cut skirting boards and seal strips from UHMWPE and HDPE to your conveyor dimensions, ready to bolt to the existing steelwork.

Why UHMWPE Outlasts Rubber Skirts

Rubber skirt seals wear fast against abrasive product and grip the belt, stealing drive power and heating the belt edge. UHMWPE is several times more abrasion resistant and far slicker, so it seals with light contact pressure and glides rather than drags. The result is longer seal life, less belt wear, and fewer shutdowns to re-skirt the same transfer point.

Skirt Boards, Liners, and Sealing Strips

A complete skirting system stacks three plastic elements: liner plates protecting the inside of the steel skirt boards from the material stream, the main skirt boards themselves, and the adjustable sealing strip that meets the belt. We cut all three, with slotted holes so the seal can be dropped as it wears, countersunk fixings that stay clear of the material flow, and angled ends where chutes converge.

Dust Control and Compliance

A sealed load zone is the first line of dust control on any conveyor handling fines. Properly fitted skirting with a continuous UHMWPE seal dramatically cuts airborne dust at transfer points, easing housekeeping and helping sites meet dust exposure requirements without adding extraction capacity.

Deflectors, Wear Bars, and Impact Zone Parts

The same order can include the rest of the transfer point's plastic: deflector plates that centre the load on the belt, impact bed wear bars in UHMWPE, and side wear panels for the chute above. One drawing set, one delivery, everything labelled for the shutdown crew.

Cut to Your Conveyor, Not a Catalogue

Catalogue skirting assumes a standard conveyor; real transfer points never are. Every set we supply is CNC routed from your dimensions: belt width, skirt length, board height, and your existing bolt pattern, so installation is bolts-in rather than drilling and fitting on the run.

Shutdown Sets and Site Standing Orders

Skirting is a consumable, so sites put it on a schedule. We supply full shutdown sets across multiple conveyors, labelled by transfer point, and standing orders that keep seal strip on the shelf between shutdowns. Quarry, grain, and mine sites across Australia run this way with us.

Skirting specs written around Polystone or Tivar are asking for UHMWPE. The trade names guide maps those brands to what we supply.

What is conveyor skirting?
Skirting is the sealing system along the sides of a conveyor load zone that keeps material on the belt as it lands. It typically combines rigid skirt boards with a flexible sealing strip riding lightly on the belt, containing spillage and dust at the transfer point.
Why use UHMWPE for skirting instead of rubber?
UHMWPE skirt liners and sealing strips last several times longer than rubber against abrasive product, and their low friction means they can seal against the belt with less pressure, reducing belt wear and drive power. Rubber still has a place as the soft contact lip; UHMWPE does the wear-facing work.
Can you cut skirting to our conveyor dimensions?
Yes. Send the skirt board lengths, heights, and hole patterns and we will cut the full set, including angled ends, slotted holes for adjustment, and countersunk fixings. Sets arrive labelled in installation order.
What thickness skirting board should we use?
Common skirt liners run 10 to 20mm in UHMWPE depending on lump size and impact at the load zone. Heavier duty zones under primary crushers may use thicker boards backed by steel. Tell us the product, belt width, and drop height and we will recommend a spec.
Do you supply full transfer point packages?
