Acrylic Fence Panels That Add Privacy Without Blocking Light

Traditional timber paling fences provide privacy but block light and airflow, leaving side yards and gardens dark and damp. Replacing solid fence sections with frosted acrylic panels lets natural light flood through while maintaining full visual privacy, transforming narrow side passages and south-facing gardens.

Acrylic fence panels are also significantly more durable than timber in wet or coastal environments, with no risk of rot, termite damage, or warping. They require no painting or staining, just an occasional wipe-down to remove dust and grime.

Infill Panels for Aluminium and Steel Fencing

Aluminium slat and steel picket fences provide security but limited privacy. Adding acrylic sheet or polycarbonate sheet infill panels between posts converts an open fence into a privacy screen without replacing the entire fence structure, a practical and cost-effective upgrade for existing fencing.

Panels can be set behind existing pickets for a layered look, or installed as full-width infill between posts for a clean, modern appearance. Frosted, tinted, and clear options suit different architectural styles and screening requirements.

Decorative Laser-Cut Screen Panels

For fences where full privacy is not needed but a design feature is wanted, our laser cutter produces decorative screen panels with geometric, botanical, or custom patterns cut into solid-colour acrylic sheet. These panels provide partial screening while creating striking shadow patterns as sunlight passes through the cut-outs.

Decorative screens are popular as front fence feature panels, side gate infills, and garden dividers where a standard frosted panel would be too plain for the setting.

Boundary Extensions and Height Additions

Adding a frosted acrylic panel above an existing 1.8m fence is a common way to gain extra height and privacy without the bulk of a solid timber extension. Because acrylic panels are lightweight and translucent, they are often easier to get approved under council regulations than solid extensions, though local rules vary and should always be checked before installation.

For pool fencing applications, panels must meet local pool barrier regulations for height, gap dimensions, and climbability. We can cut to specified dimensions, but compliance certification is the responsibility of the installer.

Ordering Fence Screen Panels

All fence panels are cut to your exact dimensions on our CNC router, with fixing holes pre-drilled to match your post spacing. We recommend stainless steel or galvanised fixings for all outdoor fence installations.

Provide your post spacing, fence height, and preferred screening level, and we will quote panels cut and drilled ready to install.

Fence Privacy Screens FAQ

Can acrylic panels be fitted to existing fence posts?
Yes, panels can be cut to fit between existing timber, steel, or aluminium fence posts with pre-drilled fixing holes to match your post spacing. No structural changes to the fence frame are usually needed.
Will acrylic fence panels crack in hail?
Acrylic handles normal weather well, but for hail-prone areas polycarbonate sheet is virtually unbreakable and the better choice. It handles impacts that would crack acrylic or glass.
Can you laser-cut decorative patterns into fence panels?
Yes, our laser cutter can produce decorative screens with geometric patterns, organic shapes, or custom designs that provide partial screening with a design feature effect.
How do acrylic fence panels compare to glass pool fencing?
Acrylic is lighter, more impact-resistant, and significantly less expensive than toughened glass. It does scratch more easily than glass, but minor scratches can be polished out.
What is the maximum panel size for a fence screen?
Panel size depends on material and thickness, but we commonly produce panels up to 2400mm x 1200mm. Larger sizes are possible in polycarbonate. We can advise based on your post spacing and height.
