Flat sheet suits a flush skillion style roof over a flat rafter frame, while corrugated or greca profile sheet is designed to match standard Colorbond roofing profiles, making it a common choice when extending or partially replacing an existing metal roof. Thickness generally runs from 0.8 mm to 1.5 mm profiled sheet, or 4-6 mm for flat, unribbed sheet spanning wider rafter gaps.
Clear sheet maximises natural light in the space below, while opal or bronze tinted sheet cuts glare and heat build-up while still lighting the area, which is why tinted roofing is so common over alfresco dining and outdoor entertaining zones.
Installation Tips
Fix panels with purpose-made roofing screws that include a rubber washer, driven through the crown of a corrugation rather than the trough, and always pre-drill oversized holes to allow for thermal expansion and contraction across seasons.
Overlap panels correctly at joins (check the manufacturer guide for your profile) and maintain the minimum roof pitch recommended for your sheet type, generally 5 degrees or more, so water sheds properly and does not pool.
