Machined Plastic Parts for Medical Equipment
Medical equipment housings, mounting fixtures and mechanism components often call for machined plastic parts rather than metal, where weight, non-conductivity or corrosion resistance matter more than raw strength.
Perspex Online CNC-machines and turns engineering plastic components for medical device manufacturers, biomedical engineers and equipment repair technicians, working from drawings, samples or measurements of an existing part.
Acetal and Nylon: Engineering Plastics for Precision Parts
Acetal is a common choice for precision components such as gears, bushings and mechanism parts because it machines to tight tolerances, has low friction, and holds its dimensions well under repeated use.
Nylon offers good wear resistance and impact strength for housings, brackets and structural components, and is often selected where a part needs to absorb knocks in day-to-day clinical or hospital handling rather than sit in a fixed enclosure.
Turned Components from Rod and Tube
Where a design calls for a round or cylindrical part, we turn components on our CNC lathe from clear acrylic rod or tube, producing spacers, sight glasses, guide rods and housings machined to precise diameters and lengths.
Clear acrylic tube is also used for viewing windows and fluid level indicators in equipment housings, giving a clear line of sight into a mechanism or reservoir without the weight or fragility of glass.
Prototype and Low-Volume Production Runs
We handle prototype parts and low-volume production runs for medical device development, machining a first article for testing before committing to a larger batch, which suits R&D teams working through design iterations.
Repeat orders are straightforward once a part has been proven, with consistent tolerances across every batch machined on the same CNC equipment.
Working with Medical Device Manufacturers and Technicians
We work directly with biomedical engineers, device manufacturers and hospital or clinic maintenance teams needing a replacement or custom part machined to spec.
All components are machined at our Gold Coast workshop and shipped Australia-wide, priced ex GST based on material and complexity. Get a quote for your medical equipment component.
