PLEXIGLAS ® Gallery & Museum AR is a premium, optically clear acrylic sheet designed specifically for high-end framing and display applications. Featuring an advanced anti-reflective coating on both sides, it dramatically reduces surface glare while maintaining exceptional light transmission. The result is a virtually invisible glazing solution that allows artwork, photography, and displays to be viewed with true colour accuracy and minimal distraction.

Unlike standard acrylic or glass, this anti-reflective grade significantly improves viewing clarity under natural and artificial lighting conditions. It enhances contrast and detail, making it ideal for environments where presentation quality is critical. In addition to its optical performance, PLEXIGLAS® offers the inherent benefits of acrylic - it is lighter than glass, more impact resistant, and easier to handle and install.

The 2mm thickness is well suited to smaller frames, lightweight installations, and situations where reducing overall weight is important. It is ideal for residential framing, photographic prints, certificates, and smaller gallery pieces.

The 3mm thickness provides increased rigidity and improved span capability, making it better suited for larger frames, commercial installations, and museum displays where additional strength and durability are required.

PLEXIGLAS® Gallery & Museum AR is the preferred choice where premium presentation, protection, and viewing clarity are non-negotiable.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PLEXIGLAS® Gallery & Museum AR?

It is a premium cast acrylic sheet with a specialist anti-reflective coating designed for high-end framing, galleries, museums, and display cases where clarity and minimal glare are critical.

What does AR mean?

AR stands for Anti-Reflective. The surface coating significantly reduces light reflection compared to standard acrylic or glass.

How much reflection does it reduce?

Standard acrylic reflects around 8% of light. AR acrylic can reduce visible reflections to approximately 1–2%, dramatically improving visibility of the artwork.

Does it also provide UV protection?

Yes. It blocks up to approximately 99% of harmful UV radiation below around 380 nm, helping prevent fading and degradation of artwork.

Is it shatter resistant?

Yes. Like all acrylic, it is far more impact resistant than glass and safer for large frames or public spaces.

What are common applications?
  • Museum-grade framing

  • High-value artwork and photography

  • Collectibles and memorabilia

  • Display cabinets

  • Retail showcase glazing
